James Moss: End Effector

31st May 2010 - 7th July 2010

His current body of work has been created over the past four years and draws influence from his life in Japan as well as building on previous interests in maps, plans and patterns.

Moss' early work was based on infrastructure and the growth of cities, illustrating repeated acts and referencing accumulative construction. This led to a series of temporary wall drawings and installations where content developed from abstract lines and forms to automatic figurative imagery.

For his latest work, Moss' focus has moved to incorporate natural subjects and more fluid structures while maintaining the intensely textured surfaces of earlier pieces.
