Woven textiles by Helga Matos
Brazilian weaver and Royal College of Art graduate Helga Matos brings her constructed textiles to Yorkshire for the first time at Brass Gallery. Her unconventional use of technology-based materials such as copper, rubber and magnetic tape, encourage us to connect with her intricately woven digital fibres in ways which stimulate unusual and surprising responses.
The work exhibited shows a deeper involvement with science, a curious mind combining mathematical theories, chemistry and physics to inspire a textile collection where intricate detail and experimentation with materials are paramount.
