Leeds-based marketing agency displays first exhibition of talented young local artist. Brass, one of Yorkshire’s leading marketing agencies, is supporting local creative talent by hosting the first ever art exhibition of a young Leeds schoolboy.
In an initiative to promote local creative talent, Brass HQ has opened up gallery wall space, and is currently exhibiting a collection of paintings created by primary school pupil, Harry Smith, age 10.
Harry launched the exhibition, a collection of paintings using the medium of acrylic on canvas, on Friday 1st April, which also gave him the opportunity to display his talent to the creative minds behind major brands including Haribo, MAOAM, Hammonds and Superbreak.
“At Brass we look to support local creative talent and to give up-and-coming artists a space to shine, which is why we’ve looked to offer this exhibition space to the local community. Harry clearly has great artistic ability, and at such a young age is phenomenal. We are thrilled to be able to offer Harry the space for his first art exhibition, and look forward to seeing great things from him in the future.”
Astonishingly, Harry only began painting after receiving an acrylic paint set from his parents on his 10th birthday in September last year. Since that time, Harry has been a prolific painter, producing over 20 pieces, during which, he has taught himself new techniques by experimenting with colours and textures.
“It’s really exciting to see my pictures on the wall, and the special lighting makes them look so good. I hope a lot of people enjoy them.”
Harry’s pictures can be viewed until the end of May at Brass, Moorfield House, Alma Road, Headingley, Leeds LS6 2AH.
